The 1:1 Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for the well-being of the person they support, ensuring they are part of an inclusive and respectful environment. 1:1 DSPs are responsible for providing essential assistance to enable the supported person to actively participate in their preferred surroundings and communities. These forms of support will be administered with the utmost dignity and consideration for the supported person's preferences. This approach aligns with the principles and guidelines of Arizona Developmental Services as well as adhering to the regulations mandated by the State of Arizona and DDD guidelines and policies. The position reports to the Lead Direct Support Professional and Program Director.
Duties include but not limited to:
* Agrees to uphold the mission of the organization by empowering the member supported to work and thrive in the desired person-centered philosophy
* The staff member will provide individualized 1:1 support to the member during the program. At all times, the staff member must remain within arm's length of the member to ensure their safety and to offer immediate assistance as needed.
* Assist the member supported with daily living skills such as meal planning and preparation, shopping, grooming, job skills, cleaning, etc.
* Provide positive encouragement through modeling, verbal prompts, and a variety of options of activities for members to stay on task and motivated during the day
* Develop valuable relationships and maintain open communication with member, families, and community partnersComplete required documentation daily including member attendance, individual goal progress notes, challenges/achievements, etc.
Provide safe transportation for members including to and from designated locations morning and afternoon, and various locations for outings during the day
Maintain member confidentiality, privacy and dignity at all times
Requirements: * Minimum 6 months experience working with individuals with disabilities * Valid driver's license * Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card * Current First Aid/CPR certification * Current Article 9 certification * Clean 39 month driving record * At least 18 years of age * High school diploma or equivalent * Prevention and Support Training * Positive Behavior Support Training
